Digital Jacquard: Mythologies, Triennale de Hangzhou / Digital Jacquard: Mythologies exhibition in the Hangzhou triennial art fiber

 
 
Dans le cadre de l’édition 2013 de la triennale des arts textiles de Hangzhou, Chine, Kinor Jiang invité des éditions du FITE présente au musée Zhejiang l’exposition  Digital Jacquard: Mythologies”
 
« Le tissage Jacquard est l'une des techniques de tissage des plus anciennes et des plus sophistiquées.
Aujourd'hui, l’informatisation couplée à cette technique offre des possibilités illimitées créant des textiles fascinants. Le Jacquard numérique est largement utilisé pour la mode et l'ameublement. Cette exposition présente plus de 60 œuvres de six artistes de renommée internationale : Junichi Arai, Louise Lemieux Bérubé, Philippa Brock, Lia Cook, Wen-Ying Huang, et Liz Williamson. »

“Jacquard weaving is one of the oldest and most sophisticated types of textile technology. There is a wide array of Jacquard textiles that showcase elegance and unique beauty. Today, the combination of computerised design and Jacquard technique creates unlimited possibilities for fascinating textiles. As a result, digital Jacquard is widely used for fashion and home furnishing, and has emerged as a shining area of fibre art. This exhibition presents more than 60 works of six internationally renowned artists, including Junichi Arai, Louise Lemieux Bérubé, Philippa Brock, Lia Cook, Wen-Ying Huang, and Liz Williamson, who are at the forefront of the cutting edge of the art by using the magical Jacquard technique, designing works of art in various forms, patterns, textures, and weaves to express their broad themes.”
